Friday night multi-course wine dinner
Your weekend at Madden’s will begin with a wine tasting reception and a multi-course wine dinner, prepared by Madden’s culinary team. Our team of talented chefs will prepare exquisite dishes from scratch, sourced from the freshest ingredients, and our visiting wine experts will pair each dish with a complementary wine. Morning mimosa cruise
When you’re at the lake, you’re going to want to be on the lake. So why not put a mimosa in your hand and take a leisurely cruise around Gull.
Chef Amy’s pastry demo
Amy’s pastry demonstrations are legendary. Her faithful followers love her equally for her limitless talent and her wicked sense of humor. Amy and her team will be demonstrating how to make delicious pastries while dishing out some good-natured ribbing. You’re invited to eat it all up and give it right back.
6 wine seminars
This isn’t just a weekend for eating and drinking, you’re going to learn some things. Like how to pick up the finer nuances in different varietals, what some of those 90+-point wines taste like, what happens when you mix wine and spirits, and the difference between old world and new world pinot noir. Make your own lunch
Some people don’t want to cook when they go on vacation, but we know that isn’t you. You’re here to learn and get up to your elbows in cooking. For lunch, you will have your choice of grilling on charcoal or cooking with cast irons. Hint: there are no wrong answers.
Beach cookout
Come dinnertime, you’re going to be ready to relax. Hang out on the Wilson Bay beach and sample your way through our chef Chillin’ and Grillin’ stations including Jamaican jerk chicken wonton tacos, smoked prime rib, and grilled snapper—just to name a few. Spend the weekend at the lake
Summer Wine Down Weekend events will take place on the Wilson Bay shoreline, either in our lakeside rooms, on the Wilson Bay deck overlooking the lake, or right on the beach. In your down time, feel free to explore our golf courses, The Spa at Madden’s, Tennis & Croquet Club, or Gull Lake, while paddling along the shoreline on a kayak or stand up paddle board.
