The MGA Amateur is the state’s most prestigious amateur event and Madden’s is honored to host this year’s tournament on its championship course, The Classic at Madden’s. This is the first time the event will take place on a Brainerd Lakes Area course.
The Classic at Madden’s is hosting the 122nd Minnesota State Am on July 21-23, 2025. The 156 players in the Championship field will play 18 holes of stroke play each of the first two days. A cut will be made to the 60 lowest scoring players, plus ties, who will then play an additional 18 holes on the final day.
Spectators Welcome & Encouraged!
Members of the public are welcome and encouraged to come spectate! Please park at Madden’s Airport Driving Range and Madden’s will provide shuttles to The Classic.

Monday & Tuesday
Tee Times 7:30-9:30am and 12:30-2:30pm off Holes #1 and #10 (full field of 156 players)
Wednesday
Tee Times 8-10am off Hole #1 and #10 (low 60 and ties)
Food & Beverage will be available on-site at the beverage station and on-course tent.
PRACTICE ROUNDS
Available on The Classic any time May 2nd – July 20th
Open to 10am (caddie season): $140 plus caddie fee
10am – 2pm : $115
2pm – close: $90

- Players will be playing a combination of the Tour and Black tees.
- Hole locations will be determined by MGA Tournament staff and players will be given a hole location sheet during competition rounds
